Photographer, Cinematographer, and Visual Artist

Robert Morin is an accomplished photographer and visual artist, whose work spans multiple disciplines including fine art, freelance photography, and cinematography. He holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Studio Photography from the Slane College of Fine Arts at Bradley University, where he developed a diverse and extensive portfolio. His formal journey into photography began in the darkrooms of Vernon Hills High School, where he honed his skills and actively participated in the Vernon Hills Media Club, capturing school events and sports.

Robert's passion for visual storytelling extended into cinematography during high school, where he collaborated with friends and peers to produce short films. Notably, one of these films earned first place for school promotional videos at the Midwest Media Educators Association’s High School Film Festival in 2019.

In 2020, Robert commenced his formal education in Photography and Art Education at the College of Lake County before transferring to Bradley University in 2022. Under the mentorship of Margaret LeJeune, head professor of photography, he refined his craft and explored new artistic avenues, including photo-sculpture and conceptual series. His exceptional work earned him the "Outstanding Student in Photography" award from the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts in 2023.

Robert's professional journey is characterized by a seamless blend of traditional and contemporary photographic practices. He is proficient in fine art printing, alternative print processes such as salt printing and cyanotype, emulsion lifting, and is skilled in studio lighting. His technical expertise spans digital photography, analogue film photography, and large format tin type photography.

In May 2024, Robert graduated from Bradley University, with his fine art works featured in two prominent shows: his series “Please Wait Patiently For The Failure of The System” at the Peoria Art Guild, and a series of sculptures located at Studios on Sheridan at The Sunbeam Building in Peoria, Illinois. His contributions to the artistic community were further recognized when he was awarded "Outstanding Student in Sculpture" in Spring 2024 and served on the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts dean’s advisory board.

Currently, Robert provides freelance photography services to the greater Illinois/Chicago area, successfully fulfilling the needs of institutions, private events, and individuals seeking various photography services. His artistic practice continues to evolve, weaving between mediums of cinematography, photo-sculpture, and alternative photographic techniques. Through his work, Robert continues to push the boundaries of visual art, creating compelling narratives and innovative compositions.
